Warner overwhelmed with the reception of Pakistani fans

Australia opener David Warner expressed his happiness after getting overwhelming response from the Pakistani fans during the World Cup match on Wednesday against Pakistan at Taunton.

Warner shared a picture on his Instagram account with Pakistan supporters at the back. The caption of the picture read, “Overwhelmed by this reception.”

Warner hit a match-winning 107 for his team against Pakistan in the 17th match of ICC World Cup 2019 which was his first century for Australia after his international comeback post the ball-tampering scandal.

Ahead of Australia’s clash against Pakistan, Sarfaraz Ahmed has claimed that his team’s fans love the game and wouldn’t resort to booing Steven Smith or any other player.

“I don’t think Pakistani people will be doing it like that, our people love cricket and they love to support it, and they love the players,” Sarfaraz said.

During the match against India on June 9, Smith was constantly booed by Indian fans following his return to the international arena. Later on, Indian captain Virat Kohli asked his owns fans to stop jeering the disgraced Australian batsman.
