Wasim Akram backs Sarfraz as captain of Pakistan cricket team

Former Pakistan skipper and President of Karachi Kings Wasim Akram on Tuesday backed under-fire captain of Pakistan cricket team Sarfraz Ahmed, he said that there is no possible replacement of Sarfraz right now in the team.

While talking to media in Multan, he said that criticism against Sarfraz’s captaincy on social media is pointless and there is no Imran Khan and Javed Miandad waiting in line to replace him.

“I have been hearing this for the last two months to remove Sarfraz from the captaincy. Somebody give me a name of who would replace Sarfraz, there are no Imran Khan or Javed Miandad waiting in line to replace him, I think he doing a great job,” Wasim respond to a question.

He further added that winning or losing is a part of a game, one should know how to bounce back after the defeat.

Talking about the upcoming South Africa tour, the legendary cricketer said, “South Africa tour is quite tough, not only for Pakistan but also for other teams, here we will find out how skilled our batsmen are” he added.

On the other hand, Shahid Afridi earlier had said that Sarfraz should step down from Test captaincy and focus on ODI and T20 cricket only.
