Former captain Wasim Akram to play Australia’s Bushfire Cricket Bash


Karachi: Pakistan former captain and left-arm pace bowler Wasim Akram has confirmed his participation in the Australia Bushfire Cricket Bash fundraising match scheduled to be played on February 8.

Earlier, some of the big names of cricket confirmed their participation. Yuvraj Singh, Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting, Brett Lee, and Adam Gilchrist are the notable names whereas former Indian and West Indies legend Sachin Tendulkar and Courtney Walsh will serve as coaches for the match.

Brad Haddin, Andrew Symonds, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Michael Clarke, Mike Hussey, and women cricketers will also take part in the fundraising match. More cricketers will be announced soon.

Three matches, Australian Big Bash League (BBL) season 9 finale, T20I between Australia Women’s and India Women’s team and  Bushfire Cricket Bash is part of the Bushfire Cricket Bash.

The profit made from these three matches will go to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
