Pakistan’s legendary left arm fast bowler Wasim Akram is known as one of the best fast bowler the world saw. The Pakistani pace bowler mesmerized the batsman with his skillful bowling with both the new ball and the old one at the back end of the innings.
On this day in 1990 the left arm paceman took his second ODI hat-trick in a space of 6 months. He achieved this milestone against Australia during the Sharjah cup final. Wasim dismissed Merv Hughes, Carl Rackemann and Terry Alderman off consecutive deliveries to hand Pakistan a famous win. He ended with 3 for 45 in 8.5 overs as he lead Pakistan to 36 run victory over the Kangaroos.
Due to his hat-trick and a quick fire 49 run knock down the order ensured that he got the man of the match award. Wasim Akram is also the only bowler in history to have taken two hat-tricks in both ODI and test matches.
