Karachi: Pakistan’s former captain Wasim Akram and Pakistan men’s team all-rounder Imad Wasim have announced to donate PKR one million each to ‘Prime Minister Relief Fund for COVID-19’.
Both Akram and Imad expressed their thoughts over the current global crisis during ARY Digital Network’s telethon to collect donations for PM’s Relief Fund to fight COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan.
On Monday, Test skipper Azhar Ali also donated PKR one million to COVID-19 fund. Last week, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that its centrally contracted players will collectively donate PKR5million to the fund.
It must be noted here that PM Khan has setup ‘Prime Minister Relief Fund for COVID-19’ to better serve people in the country during coronavirus pandemic. The government has revealed bank account details in which Pakistanis from across the world can donate.
Coronavirus has hit the entire world with its intensity. Almost all countries are affected by this virus which has taken plenty of lives. Several cities are locked down and public gatherings are strictly prohibited. Major sports events around the world have also been postponed.
