‘It wasn’t our day’ Watson says on their defeat against Multan Sultans

Rawalpindi: Quetta Gladiators’ opening batsman Shane Watson thinks that their loss against Multan Sultans was unfortunate as his team fought till the last moment.

While talking to the media after Gladiators lost to Sultans by 30 runs, Watson praised the opponents for bowling immensely well at their home crowd. “We tried our best to win the match but in the end, Sultans bowled really well to restrict us before the target. Overall, it was an exciting contest where both teams poured in equal efforts,” he said.

The right-handed former Australian batter praised Rilee Rossouw for the way he batted to score the fastest century off just 44 balls in PSL’s history. “He [Rossouw] played exceptionally well today. He is a talented guy and we felt when we lost him during the draft earlier,” he added.

In the end, Watson praised Multan’s energetic crowd which cheered both the teams throughout. “The support from the crowd was phenomenal. The crowd was energetic and cheering throughout the game which I really enjoyed personally,” he concluded.
