Watson excited about PSL


Dubai: Australia’s best All rounder Shane Watson says “if security situation improves in Pakistan, I’ll be delighted to play cricket there.”

According to a Gulf News report, after the end of series against India in Australia, Watson has reached Dubai to participate in the PSL. Watson playing for Islamabad United said he enjoyed a lot playing series in Pakistan during 2005 while representing Australian A team.

However players security is an important issue he said and If Pakistan is declared safe for players around the world I’ll be delighted to play there.

Watson said, due to security concerns Pakistan has been unable to take advantage of its home ground for quite a long period, but I hope this situation would change.

Regarding PSL, Watson said he is hopeful to play an important role in making his team win due to his good form.

He said he is in good form for the past one to one and a half month and is happy playing in Dubai and hopes to give a satisfactory performance here.

He said he’s glad to be a part of PSL and as there are some world class players in his Islamabad United team it would be enjoyable playing with them.

Here I’ll be playing with players whom I have always played against. I won’t be playing against Misbah ul Haq, Saeed Ajmal and Muhammad Sami rather I’ll be playing with them and it will be a wonderful experience.

Watson said, Islamabad has made an excellent team management selection, he’s looking forward to play with coach Dean Jones.

When I started my cricket, Dean Jones used to be one of my heroes, he understands cricket very well, I’ve been learning a bit of cricket from him in the past but this time I’ll have a chance to work with him very closely.

Watson was extremely happy working with Pakistan’s great bowler Wasim Akram. He said, he has played a little bit against him during the start of his career and has been his great admirer and now he’s having the opportunity to work with him which is a matter of great delight.
