We want to win both the league title and UCL- Benzema

A famous win at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium against the German side VFL Wolfsburg was one of the finest comeback in the history of Real Madrid as they wiped out the deficit of 2 goals to send the Wolfsburg side crashing out of the UEFA Champions League.

Striker Karim Benzema was extremely happy over this win and he wanted his side to win the elusive UEFA Champions League crown and the La Liga title although that will be tough ask considering the standings in the league.

“Let’s go on and win the Champions League and La Liga,” Benzema stated after the Wolfsburg win.

Brazilian left back Marcelo was also excited after this one and was amazed to see how things panned out during that magical night.

“It was a fantastic night and we are very happy,” Marcelo said after the game.

“You always have to go through the mill, and we know that every team to have reached the Champions League semi-finals has suffered.

“We had to completely change compared to the first game.”

The Real Madrid side got a hostile reception during the league game against Eibar but last night things were different as a vocal crowd backed their side vigorously.

“We have to congratulate them [the fans],” he went on. “Without the fans we would have been able to comeback. Their help was essential. They deserve to be happy right now.”

The club director Emilio Butragueno was also proud of his players and in particular the hat-trick hero Ronaldo.

“[The club] are very proud of the players and the fans,” he began. “Cristiano [Ronaldo] is a guarantee in some aspects, he never fails.

“He is very competitive and was undoubtedly man of the match. He gets the goals when needed, and that gives an idea of the caliber of player he is.”
