West Indies will tour Pakistan for three T20 internationals in December this year subjected to the security expert report on Word XI tour, Najam Sethi announced during a press conference on Monday.
The chances of international cricket’s return to Pakistan, after the brutal attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009, looks much brighter now.
After hosting Pakistan Super League 2017 final in Lahore earlier this year, World XI is likely to play three-match T20 series in Lahore next month.
Moreover, Sri Lanka, the victim of 2009 terrorist attack in Lahore, has also agreed to play a T20 game of their upcoming series against Pakistan, which can create a huge impact.
Najam Sethi also announced that the name of World XI players will be revealed in the next 72 hours.
The World XI will consist of players from eight different countries.
“Players from England, New Zealand, West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have agreed to play the World XI tournament in Pakistan, however, India has declined to send its players to Pakistan,” said Sethi.
However, all the international matches to be played in Pakistan are scheduled to be played in Lahore.
