Barcelona’s Gerard Pique and Real Madrid’s departing player Alvaro Arbeloa have been engaged in a prolonged dispute for months on social media and on other forums but after a respectful recent statement from Pique regarding Arbeloa’s departure from Real Madrid will go a long way in settling the dust. Arbeloa played his last match for Real Madrid, yesterday, against Valencia and was brought on as a substitute for Ronaldo in the 79th minute of the match.
“I wish [Arbeloa] well wherever he goes,” Pique said according to Marca.
“If he got this type of goodbye [at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu], it’s because he’s deserved it.
“Sometimes the tone has been too much [between us]. Wherever he goes I wish him well.”
Regarding the title decider on the last match day of La Liga Pique said that they will give it their all and hopefully secure a win.
“We’ll give everything in Granada, they will have motivation in front of their fans and we will do our thing.”
“I strive every year hoping to reach the final day [of the season] where we depend on ourselves to win the league.
“It matters little who wins the Champions League, the league and Copa del Rey are what’s important now [for Barcelona].”
