Southampton: Pakistani opener Shan Masood disclosed that he whispers songs while batting and it makes him calm at the crease.
In an interview with International media, Masood recalled last year’s Gabba Test when he tackled pace-trio of Mitchel Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood while whispering songs.
“I use to whisper songs while batting as it makes my mind fresh and calm and bring my complete focus on the game,” said Masood. “Last year, the same happened to me when I faced Mitchel Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood together in Australia. They were bowling at an immense pace and I was making myself calm by whispering songs at the crease,” he added.
It must be noted here that Masood has improved himself as a batsman in the last 12 months. The left-handed batsman has scored 553 runs in 8 Tests at an improved average of 40.27. He recently scored career-best 156 runs against England in the first Test of ongoing three matches Test series at their backyard.
