LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan on Wednesday said that he is hopeful of hosting Indian cricket team in UAE later this year in December.
“The government has changed in India and both the new government and BCCI are ready to start bilateral cricket ties with Pakistan,” Shaharyar said.
“I am hopeful that we will host India in December in UAE,” he added.
Shaharyar also said that PCB was keen to invite low-profile team like Netherlands and Nepal so that a positive message could go to the rest of the world.
“We want to bring back international cricket here but it could only be done gradually. First we will host low-profile cricket teams just the way we hosted Kenya last year,” he stressed.
He also said that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were also willing to come to Pakistan but they had asked PCB to first host some low-profile teams so that when they ask their respective government to play cricket here, the case would be strong for an NOC.
