Pakistan’s aggressive left-handed opener Fakhar Zaman will look to stick to his natural game in the longest format of the game if he is given a chance against Ireland and England.
He is confident to put up an impressive show in the Whites as well as he has done previously in the coloured kit for Pakistan.
“I performed when I was selected for the shorter formats and I will perform again in the Tests too and will try to play my natural game,” Fakhar Zaman told media on Thursday.
The Champions Trophy final hero for Pakistan further stated that he wants to represent Pakistan in Test cricket also as every cricketer wants to play that format of the game and he will try his best to justify his selection.
“Every cricketer dreams to plays Test cricket and I’ll try not to disappoint the selectors and the coaches,” added Fakhar.
Pakistan will take on Ireland in their debut Test commencing from May 11th.
Afterwards, they will face the Englishmen in their backyard in a two-match Test series starting from 24th of May.
It will be a huge challenge for Pakistan as they will be playing without their veteran duo of Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan with five uncapped players in their squad. Moreover, their ace spinner, Yasir Shah has also been left out due to an injury.
In absence of Shah, Pakistan’s new spinning sensation, Shadab Khan will have a massive role to play in the side.
