“Will try to come up strongly against India in Asia Cup” –Sarfraz Ahmed


KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team captain, Sarfraz Ahmed hoping to give stiff competition to the arch-rivals India in their clash of upcoming Asia Cup in September.

While talking to the media in Karachi on Saturday, the skipper said that it always create hype among the cricket fans of both the countries when it comes to Pakistan vs India in any field.

“We all know that whenever both the countries [Pakistan and India] face each other, so it’s not remain a match but a contest of emotions and rivalry,” Sarfraz stated.

He said that Champions Trophy triumph is now a memory and the things might change this time around when both the teams meet.

“We should not stick on to that victory. It will be a new day and challenge so our focus would be on playing positive cricket,”

Pakistan will face India for the very first time after outclassing India by a huge margin of 180 runs in the final to lift the coveted Champions Trophy title.

The Asia Cup will take place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 15 to 28, with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in the opening match.

According to the present schedule of the event, the match between India and Pakistan is on 19 September but is likely to be rescheduled as Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) urged to change the fixtures date.
