ADELAIDE: England was eliminated from the World Cup after they lost their must-win match to Bangladesh at Adelaide by 15 runs, ARYSports.tv reported.
England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and invited Bangladesh to take guard first.
Bangladesh, batting first, managed to score 275/7 in their allotted 50 overs.
Mahmudullah scored 103 runs from 138 balls which included seven boundaries and two sixes. Wicket keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim made 89 runs from 77 deliveries which comprising of eight fours and a six.
Soumya Sarkar contributed 40 runs for his team.
English pacers James Anderson and Chris Jordan shared two wickets each while Stuart Broad and Moeen Ali also took one wicket.
The English side, chasing 276 runs to win, was all out 260 runs with more than an over to spare.
Jos Buttler made 65 runs from 52 balls while Ian Bell contributed 63 runs for his team.
Chris Woakes remained unbeaten at 42 runs whereas Joe Root made 29 for his side.
Rubel Hossain took four wickets in 9.3 overs for Bangladesh while Captain Mashrafe Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets each.
Mahmudullah was named Man of the Match for his batting performance.
