World T20: Indo-Pak clash tops the Facebook charts

The match between Pakistan and India on the February 15th during the World T20 saw a massive 8.2 million people logging into their Facebook accounts in order to witness this high profile clash.

The social networking platform reported that during the entire event more than 46 million people interacted on Facebook regarding the mega event. In the final itself 6.1 million people were engaged on the social platform.

The ICC and team Facebook pages saw over 180 million video views from March 8 to April 3 and the widely talked about cricketers included the player of the tournament Virat Kohli, Indian captain MS Dhoni, Pakistan’s explosive all rounder Shahid Afridi and the destructive Windies opener Chris Gayle.

Among the most mentioned women’s player Pakistan’s captain Sana Mir was at the top of the pile alongside   Jahanara Alam (Bangladesh) and Stafanie Taylor (West Indies).

People also showed vast amount of interest in using profile frames and the figure amounted to around the 17 million park and included the general public and celebrities from all over the world who used it to show their support for a particular side.

Millions of people watched the videos online and the ‘live’ ones on the official ICC Website as it sparked great interest throughout the tournament.
