‘I would pay to watch Ben Stokes’ says Jos Buttler


Karachi: Ben Stokes, 2019 World Cup winner for England, got one of the best compliments from his teammate Jos Buttler. 

In an interview, the wicket-keeper batsman called stokes an ‘unbelievable player in all three formats of the game’. “I would pay to watch Ben Stokes because, in all three areas of the game, he will produce something unbelievable,” he said.

Stokes drove England to the World Cup triumph for the first time in cricket history. He scored match-saving 84 runs off 98 balls. He also scored eight runs in super-over.

Meanwhile, England’s World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan applauded Stokes as a team man. “Ben is brilliant to captain. Because he is a player who can change the game no matter what he is doing,” Morgan highlighted.

It is pertinent to mention here that Stokes has represented England in all three formats of the game since his ODI and T20I debut in 2011. He has scored 4056 runs in Test cricket at an average of 36.54 and also bagged 147 wickets in an elite form of the game.

In ODIs, he has scored 2682 runs at an average of 40.63 while also has 70 wickets in his account whereas, in T20Is, he averaged 17.94 with a total 305 runs in 26 games.
