MIAMI: Caroline Wozniacki thrashed Madison Brengle to progress to the third round of Miami Open while Venus Williams cruised past Urszula Radwanska with 6-3 6-2 win on Thursday, ARYSports.tv reports.
Fourth seed Wozniacki thumped Brengle 6-0 6-1 where she will play against Estonian Kaia Kanepi in the next round.
Venus Williams won her match in just 66 minutes to beat the younger sister of Agnieszka Radwanska, who won the Miami Open back in 2012.
However, she made 24 unforced errors but scored 22 winners to ensure her place in the next stage of the open.
She will take on Australia’s Sam Stosur in her next match. Stosur defeated Pauline Parmentier 6-1 3-6 6-0 to reach the third round.
