Commonwealth Gold medalist Muhammad Inam Butt appeals to give the same importance to other sports as cricket in Pakistan.
In a video message, the Gujranwala based athlete said, “If all sports and games should be given equal importance, so we have the potential to become the World champions”. He also said, “if we get proper opportunity to train and government supports us then we can repeat this performance in Olympics as well.”
The 29-year-old Pakistani wrestler also thanked Chief of Army staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and star cricketer Shahid Afridi on congratulating him on his victory.
Inam has brought home the country’s first gold medal at Commonwealth Games. The wrestler outpowered Nigeria’s Melvin Bibo in a one-sided final to clinch the title.
Pakistan have bagged four bronze medals in different categories. Out of the four bronze medals, two are in the wrestling and two in the weightlifting games.
