Yasir Shah to play for Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2021

Shah to replace fellow leg-spinner Shadab Khan for England series

Karachi: Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah has rejoined defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) for the 2021 season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The 35-year-old played on two matches for the Knight Riders in 2017, when the franchise won its second title (the first was in 2015 as the T&T Red Steel).

Shah has played 124 T20 matches taking 106 wickets at 29.96 runs per wicket. Shah’s economy rate is 7.13 and his strike rate is 25.10.

His last T20 matches were in October 2020 for Balochistan in Pakistan’s National T20 Cup.
The Trinbago Knight Riders won the 2020 CPL title without losing a game when the tournament was played behind closed doors entirely in Trinidad and Tobago.

The 2021 tournament will be staged in St Kitts and Nevis from 26 August to 15 September.

It must be noted that Wahab Riaz, Azam Khan, Usman Qadir, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hafeez, Haider Ali, and Shoaib Malik were also picked for the extravaganza.
