Young Rohail terms Shadab as ‘real motivator’ behind Northern’s success

Multan: Young wicket-keeper batsman Rohail Nazir has termed Northern’s team captain Shadab Khan as the real motivator behind their success in the ongoing National T20 Cup.

Northern have won 5 consecutive matches in the competition and 10 overall in T20 cricket. The 18-year-old Rohail thanked Shadab and team management on providing him a chance of batting up the order.

“Captain Shadab is himself young and he motivates the team all the time whether we are on the field or if someone is going to bat in the middle. The management led by Mohammad Waseem also trusts us a lot,” Rohail said.

“Shadab really backed me and told me that you will get the chance to bat high in the order and I am glad that I made it count today,” he added after scoring 42 off 27 deliveries with five boundaries and a six and bagged the man-of-the-match award.

Rohail stated that he was waiting for his opportunity as he usually bats up the order but he is ready to play any role for the team.

“As a professional, I’ve made up my mind that if I have to bat higher, in middle overs, or in the last overs I have to play the best possible inning. I am satisfied with my batting after scoring today and in the previous matches,” he maintained.

The right-handed batsman has aimed to carry the same form in the upcoming matches.

It must be noted that Northern beat Balochistan last night by seven wickets in the last match of the Multan-leg.
