Pakistan’s veteran middle-order batsman, Younis Khan has jumped up to fifth position in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen after his heroics at The Oval with the bat.
Younis Khan scored a massive double-hundred in the fourth and final test of the series after failing in the first three test matches, he scored 218 runs that took Pakistan to a respectable lead and eventually to a win.
Younis Khan saw a decline in his ranking after getting out cheaply in the first three tests of the series, however, he jumped up from 11th position to 5th spot after scoring sixth double-ton of his career.
On the other hand, Wahab Riaz has climbed up to 27th position from 33rd rank. His pace bowling partner, Sohail Khan made massive progress as he jumped 21 positions to become 41st ranked test bowler.
Whereas, Yasir Shah, who claimed the top rank in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Bowlers after toppling the English batting line at Lord’s, dropped to 5th position after being neutralized by the Englishmen. His five-wicket haul in the second inning at Lord’s helped him maintain the rank.
