Yousuf satisfied with preparations of Zimbabwe-bound Test players


Lahore: Mohammad Yousuf, batting coach of the National High-Performance Center (NHPC) was satisfied with the preparation of Test players, due to arrive in Zimbabwe on April 21.

11 Test specialists including Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Abid Ali, Imran Butt, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Shahnawaz Dhani, Nauman Ali, Tabish Khan, Sajid Khan, and Zahid Mahmood are training under the supervision of NHPC coaches at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

“All the players are working hard in the camp and we are training them as per team management’s plan,” Yousuf said.

“A half-day, 2 full days and 50 overs practice match have been played in the camp. The batsmen have responded very well in these matches,” he added.

“We tried to train the players according to the pitch of the first, second, third, fourth and fifth day of a Test match. The way the players are working, hopefully they will perform well in the series,” he concluded.

It must be noted that these 11 players will fly to Zimbabwe on April 21. The Test series is scheduled to start from April 29.
