Zaheer Abbas raises question on Pakistan’s squad against Bangladesh

Former Test captain Zaheer Abbas criticizes Misbah-ul-Haq and the team for making so many changes in Pakistan’s T20I squad against Bangladesh.

Abbas while talking to the media at National Stadium Karachi raised questions on the selection process for the national team. “I think team management is not clear with what they want, especially before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. For me, making so many changes in T20I squad against Bangladesh is baseless,” said Abbas who was invited as chief guest at the closing ceremony of National Triangular T20 Women Cricket Championship.

The Asian Bradman also raised questions on the sudden inclusion of Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez. “If they [Hafeez, Malik] were in the plans for T20 World Cup then why they were dropped earlier,” he asked.

“In my opinion, the team management should maintain continuity in the selection process in all three formats of the game,” he added.

On the other hand, Zaheer is happy to see Bangladesh confirming Pakistan’s tour. “It is good to see teams coming to Pakistan. PCB is putting efforts and making things better,” he concluded.

It must be noted here that Pakistan team head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq announced a 15-men squad for the upcoming shorter format series. Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Fakhar Zaman, Imam Ali, Haris Sohail were the notable omission from the squad whereas three uncapped players Ahsan Ali, Haris Rauf and Amad Butt are found their places in the team for the first time.

Experienced Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez have also made a comeback in the national side.
