Zahid Mehmood replaces injured Naseem Shah in Gladiators’ squad


Lahore: Leg-spinner Zahid Mehmood has replaced young pacer Naseem Shah in Quetta Gladiators’ squad for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five.

The 17-year-old Naseem suffered an ankle strain in his left leg that led him to rule out of the tournament and has been advised five days rest by the doctors. He played five matches and picked three wickets.

Zahid is already part of the Gladiators’ squad as a replacement of the West Indies’ Keemo Paul but Keemo is all set to return after the conclusion of the two-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.

The replacement was approved by the event’s technical committee which includes
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan, Bazid Khan, Marina Iqbal, Sameer Khosa and Dr. Sohail Saleem.
