After losing the match by eight wickets against Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi now will look to find a way to return to the winning track as they take on Lahore Qalandars in a match which can turn the things around for both the teams.
A win will make the position of both teams stronger at the points table as Zalmi are currently placed second while Qalandars had set on the fifth spot after losing to Karachi Kings.
Both sides look strong on the page but its a game and a good team on the field will wrap up the victory. Zalmi have in-form Kieron Pollard who has played a crucial role for them in their wins as the right-handed batsman has 182 runs in his account so far in this tournament.
On the other hand, skipper of Lahore Qalandars Fakhar Zaman will play an important role for his team by playing some strokes to give Qalandars a strong start with the bat. He has scored 183 runs in 7 matches at an average of 26.14.
Kamran Akmal, Imam-ul-Haq and right-handed magnificent foreigner Liam Dawson will hold the command of Zalmi who are just a match away to find their place in the playoffs. Kamran Akmal didn’t show much impressive performance this year but his inning in the last match showed that the right-hander is getting his form back.
Qalandars have the Sohail Akhtar, Haris Sohail and Corey Andreson will play a lethal part in their team’s run-up against Zalmi.
In the bowling department, Zalmi have two of the prominent bowlers of this season so far Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz who both can thrash the opponents with pace and variety. Sameen Gul and Umaid Asif will accompany the experienced fast bowling duo.
Young Haris Rauf will add value to Qalandars’ bowling line which is looking forward to get rid of the opponent’s batting line. David Wiese is the bowler who can disturb Zalmi’s batsman with pace while their spin department is filled with talented leg spinner Yasir Shah and Sandeep Lamichhane.
With winning the last match against the same opposition convincingly, Zalmi will look to dominate but Qalandars aims to grab this opportunity as a win will make their position strong to qualify in the playoffs. May the best team wins.
