Zimbabwe-bound Test squad returns negative twice in COVID-19 testing


LAHORE: Pakistan’s 11 Test players, who have joined bio-secure bubble ahead of training camp for Zimbabwe tour, tested negative in their second COVID-19 tests.

After returning negative twice in COVID-19 testing, the players will start training here at the Gaddafi Stadium this afternoon. Six additional players and supporting staff have also been tested negative.

11 Test specialists including Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, Abid Ali, Imran Butt, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Shahnawaz Dhani, Nauman Ali, Tabish Khan, Sajid Khan, and Zahid Mahmood had gathered here yesterday.

Meanwhile, six additional players Naseem Shah, Rohail Nazir, Taj Wali, Irfanullah Shah, Waqas Maqsood, Sameen Gul also joined the Test squad.

It must be noted here that Pakistan is scheduled to play the only Test against Zimbabwe. They will depart for the tour on April 21.
