Harare: Zimbabwe’s cricket board has increased its efforts and cast its eyes on Inzamam to act as their batting coach after witnessing Afghanistan’s historic victory against Zimbabwe.
Afghanistan became the first associate team to win the title of One Day series played against any test team and made a clean sweep in the T20, two match series. After this disastrous defeat Zimbabwe’s cricket board has fired their batting coach Andy Waller and bowling coach Douglas Hondo but no decision has been taken against Head coach Dav Whatmore.
It’s been learnt that the Zimbabwean cricket board authorities are interested in acquiring Inzamam’s services to assist Dav Whatmore, whereas the host board’s Chief Executive Wilfred Mukondiwa reserved his comments. He said we are looking into all possible options to avoid such embarrassment in future.
